So... My friend told me about overclocking and I tried it.
At first I put it on 2.4 GHz(266•9) and it worked. Then I wanted to make it more and now I have a problem.
Whatever I do with CPU Host Frequency(raising it or lowering it) it doesn't make a change. It is always 200•CPU Clock Ratio(If i put the Clock ratio to 10 than its 2 GHz).

These are my M.I.T. specs:
Robust Graphics Booster - Auto
CPU Clock Ratio - 8x
CPU Frequency - 2.40GHz(300x8)
CPU Host Frequency(MHz) - 300
PCI Express Frequency(Mhz) - 100
Performance Enhance - Standard
System Memory Multiplier (SPD) - 2.66

System Voltage Control - Manual
DDR2 OverVoltage Control - Normal
FSB OverVoltage Control - Normal
CPU Voltage Control - 1.27500V
Normal CPU Vcore - 1.32500V

So my CPU Frequency is 1.6GHz at the moment (200•8) and I would like to raise it to 2.6/2.7 GHz.
Please someone tell me what I need to do.

"MIT specs" means that you have a Gigabyte motherboard. I have help. :bounce:

This should be your first stop.
Core2 Overclocking Guide (generic guide based on an Asus motherboard):

Shadow's Gigabyte motherboard OC guide:

It's for an EP35-DS3L but all the Gigabyte Core2 BIOS's are similar.

If you have a System Mem Mult of 2.0 available, select it. Then you need to start increasing the FSB freq (G'byte calls it the CPU Host Freq).

You can increase RAM voltage up to 2.2 volts. Normal is 1.8 volts.

A 50% overclock (2.4 GHz is a reasonable expectation. You may run into processor limits before you reach 2.6 GHz.

Upper voltage limit is 1.50 volts. Upper temp limit is 70 C.

Will this be good for 2.5 GHz :

Robust Graphics Booster - Auto
CPU Clock Ratio - 10x
CPU Frequency - 2.50GHz(250x10)
CPU Host Frequency(MHz) - 250
PCI Express Frequency(Mhz) - 100
Performance Enhance - Standard
System Memory Multiplier (SPD) - 2.66

System Voltage Control - Manual
DDR2 OverVoltage Control - +0.4V
FSB OverVoltage Control - +0.2 V
CPU Voltage Control - ///// - what should i put my voltage to?
Normal CPU Vcore - 1.32500V

*Thanks for help :D*

So... I was trying to overclock a minute ago and the CPU host frequency wont change (it changes in BIOS, but my computer says that he is still on CPU Clock ratio • 200MHz)
I think there is a settings problem or smt. Do you maybe know where can i change that or tell me whats the problem :S

If you are going to mod this and try for every mhz worth of stable overclocking then you might want to pull the ihs and replace the gray goop that amd and intel use on their low end cpus. It can limit a cpu's ability to overclock by 200mhz or more by reducing how fast heat can be removed from the core. In the end maybe a cheap upgrade is best like a e7200/7300 if you want to be cheap or a e8400. If wanting a quad a q8400 or better.
