So conservative anti-gay websites are the reason EA was voted worst company ? OK, link one. Let's see a link to just one anti-gay website that's launching a call to arms to vote EA as worst company. Don't use a current issue of freedom that's important to so many people as an excuse without proof, please. Some of us still remember the hiring of "Christians" to protest Dante's Inferno at the 2009 E3 event as a PR stunt.

EA just keeps digging itself into holes.
Lets see?
Blatant abuse of employees? check!
Releasing broken games, then refusing to support them because of "piracy?" check!
Taking fun games like C&C, destroying the studios that made them, then shelving them for the SAME games released yearly with a different number on the end? check!
Faking protests as publicity stunts in an attempt to make religious groups look like idiots? check!
Threatening to revoke access to digital copies legally purchased to users that requested refunds on your shitty products? check!
Blaming the people that BUY YOUR GAMES for all the problems you created yourselves? check!
I can't believe these jokers are still in business. Madden football and Soccer/Football yearly releases HAVE to be keeping these guys alive.

Things EA has taught me.
1. Buy the disk.
2. Don't preorder, wait and see if a game actually works first.
3. Avoid EA like a dirty chick with a raging case of the herpes.

I won't say EA get undue hate, they deserve it for forcing games on origin only, always online DRM like Ubisoft (another bad company in this regard) and similar reasons. But they are almost on an equal footing as Craptivision who keep releasing the same garbage (COD) year after year and charge $15 for 4 maps. Also, they aren't the worst company if everything was taken into account. They are among the worst gaming companies, but there are companies that do far more damage than they can ever do.

I would give EA 'the worse' rating, simply by pointing out their "micro transaction" crap. The sims, would be a good example. What should have been in the game, is now a separate purchase for more then what the game is actually worth now! And to top it off, it's very LITTLE content for that high price! And we're not even talking about the online store crap, again most should have been part of the game or at least part of one of the add-ons. And if sold, 1/2 the price they are now, minimum.
To throw salt on the wound, they will not fix many of the bugs of the game, only the most severe ones. The memory leak, and 2+year old bugs are still in the game!

Now if they dropped their prices, combined add-ons (or added more content) and FIX their bugs (all of them), then i would love ea. Hell, i would be happy if they just fixed the ALL bugs, alone! (And i'll bet alot of money that is NOT going to happen).

If anything, that's their new golden rule: micro transactions are a must. After all, they do want F2P gaming to be the norm and the future, which I find a disgusting set of words in itself.

I doubt the companies that are at the top of my shit list will ever change: Activision, EA, and Ubisoft. I don't understand why no one really seems to complain that a map pack of 4 is in no way worth $15, especially if items were reused from a few games ago. EA, I just have their expensiveness too, and their "future plans". As for Ubisoft, stop trying to do what all the other bad companies are doing and make your own decisions?

LOL! Toms readers AGAIN prove why they are the laughingstock of the internet. Talk about double standards. You people pile on heaps of praise for the latest Activision game, but then immediately attack EA by calling its employees names and complaining about industry standard best practices. All of this criticism of EA is completely unwarranted. They're simply doing what the rest of the industry is doing. Origin is the same as Battlenet. Battlelog is the same as Facebook. The SimCity store is the same as Diablo 3's auction house. EA is just trying to give you what you already use to help you connect to EA and its products, but you people keep whining about it. Get with the times. EA makes the best and most unique games out there. Their services are second to none. They help struggling developers create more games than they would be able to on their own. Quit your bitchin!

Moore said on Friday that EA was voted to be worse than the companies responsible for the biggest oil spill in history, the mortgage crisis, and bank bailouts that cost millions of taxpayer dollars.

I saw that and was like... You got a point there. I'm pretty sure i'd rate all those companies far lower then EA, EA nickel and dimes you with lower quality crap, but they don't destroy the oceans, kill the economy, and then beg for billions in bailout money.

So i have a little bit of sympathy there.

Then I saw:

while other complaints -- like the always-on feature in SimCity serving as DRM are pure garbage.

And i'm like... /facepalm
I just gave you points you idiot!
Now i have to go and take them away, plus an extra few point for even saying it to begin with on top of the DRM simcity has.

Then I saw:

"In the past year, we have received thousands of emails and postcards protesting against EA for allowing players to create LGBT characters in our games

Ok that is crap.
Mostly that people would complain about a company supporting equal rights, but then again people don't care about equality, they care about hatred.

But that they openly support LGBT rights, and feelings and include them in their games, is quite a huge step forward, and one I support.

I feel like reading about EA is like a bad rollercoaster that you can't get off of, and the owner just threw a bunch crap along the side to see what you think of it.

They do/say something smart, then something stupid, then something smart again, then they slap you with lies and call you an idiot, but then they give you free crap and take a stand against discrimination! lol >

If EA is the worst company in the US then Activision should rank up there as well. Expensive DLC's and always on connections for their Blizzard games. Oh and removing LAN play from starcraft.

I'm not defending EA is any way but they do get a bit of hate that may not be totally deserved. Everyone complains about Origin. Why? Because they like Steam & they want everything on there. Fact is though that if EA puts out the game they can decide who sells it, it's their right. I don't see Team Fortress 2 on Origin, so what gives? I think there is a bit of a double standard going on with that. I've used Origin & I don't see where it's so gawd awful that it deserves such hate, I think it stems to the fact of inconvenience for the gamers that want to be able to chat with their friends on Steam.

All of the other crappy things that EA does, yes they deserve to be drilled for them. But I think the Origin thing is more of people just whining because the game they want to play is not on Steam. That's the only thing I think EA gets a little too much hate on.

[citation][nom]Martell1977[/nom]I didn't like EA since they destroyed Ultima Online, but thought I would try Battlefield 3 anyways. BF3 was fun, but woefully short campaign for $60. When I saw that the first DLC pack was available so quickly after release, I truly believe they made the entire game and then decided to break it up to soak all the money they could. I will NEVER buy another EA game, I learned my lesson.IMO, they are the worst game company, but the worst company overall...not really, I'd have to give that honor to Best Buy.[/citation]

no owrst company of all time is walmart, they more than any other company are the epitome of why the US economy is in the s--- house. many buisness like bestbuy followed the walmart model.

bassically they move into an area low price way below what mom and pop shops can afford to go , then when the mom and pop shpops go under they increase pricing , while using foriegn powers to creat all theri goods (China) which further sucks money out of the US economy.

walmart taught this trick to people like best buy. Further more they get a high horse stick up their butt and stop carrying certain products because they think they ahve some obligation to control american shoppers moral compass. these are jsut teh tip of walmarts crimes , the list for crimes agaisnt theri employees is even deeper.

I don't know any company not creating goods from parts made in China. Every American-branded motor vehicle, whether the final assembly is performed in the U.S. or not, is made from a majority of parts manufactured in China. Your Samsung TV set... Made in China. Even Minnetonka Moccasins are now 'made in china' (wtf?).

Best Buy has ruined their own company through their own jacked-up non-customer centric strategies. They were once a decent company. Due to past experiences I've had there regarding customer service or delivery of faulty products, I'll go out of my way not to shop at Best Buy. Almost anything I see at Best Buy is now less expensive at an online retailer. If Best Buy didn't have deals with banks to offer credit to the lowest common denominator in order that they might purchase their next 70" flatscreen or the next-gen iPhone or iPad (even before their last gen is paid for), I'm sure they'd be under by now.

There's nothing, really, but the convenience of everything being in the same location that's an advantage to Walmart. Beside the occasional sale items, prices on most things are not cheaper there. There's little reason to shop at Walmart but for the convenience. I can find just about anything cheaper online.

Mom and Pop shops, whether Walmart is near or not, need to do things to set themselves apart from other businesses in their marketplace. Solid customer service, getting to know your local customers and knowledge of the products they're selling are easily ways Mom and Pop shops can differentiate themselves in a marketplace where disposable employees exist at Walmart or Best Buy. They're still probably going to be selling products 'made in china', but they need to do things differently than the mega-superstores in order to give themselves a competitive advantage. Most Mom and Pop shops don't know how to do the things they need to in order to survive. This is why most fail; Walmart around or not.

You dont have to buy video games from EA and devs dont have to partner with them.

Most Comcast customers are stuck in Comcast monopoly and have no other alternatives for their cable and internet.

Also how are these votes determined?

EA is at a huge advantage since its an international company pissing off people world wide.
Are votes really only being submitted from US only...probably not

I think there may be a little truth behind EA CEO's saying... because from what i am seeing now, Microsoft want to contest them for this title. Just look at Microsoft recently OS and console development and their attitude toward those comments/complaints

I never understood why people disliked them until I bought 2 copies of the new Medal of Honor. Worst mistake of my life. Their support is horrendous! Woah! It's terrible! Eventually they just deleted my ticket, lol, they were like - we don't want to help you because you've bought almost all our games - ticket deleted! lol assholes!

Most of the drivel EA puts out is simply rehash's, The fact that they make so much off updated rosters in their sports franchises is mind blowing. But people do not hold out, they buy this crap in masses, just look at the presales on Madden for example. Also even though it is not EA look at CoD, the games are simple rehash's and people fork over insane amounts of cash. BO2 broke records and made 800 million yet activision cannot host servers? Sorry for the rank but I am sick of being expected to pay top dollar for garbage.

lol..

You people take this bs as a sign that EA is hurting? Please. And I loved the "bring it on" comment. Real classy, there. EA answers to it's investors, above all else.

It's going to take a heck of a lot more than internet bashing and a few ppl on certain forums claiming to boycott their games. Are you people insane? Those two things I mentioned right there make up the MINORITY.

EA is in no danger. Their practices are in no way going to change. And DRM is going no where. Until the above mentioned minority I spoke of becomes the majority, this topic is just another useless waste of pixels to go along with the other EA hate-filled rants.

So go on, boycott them all you wish. EA isn't worried about the minority. You mean very little to the future of their continued 'success'.

Reminds me of when Steam first released. Everyone hated it, even the moderators from time to time on their forums bring up those memories. I myself hated it at first, but I can't live without it now. Only time will be able to show the ultimate outcome of Origin.

THE BIGGER THEY ARE THE HARDER THEY FALL! FAK EA CORPORATE FOR RUINING, WATERING & DUMBING DOWN EVERY GAME THEY PUT OUT!!! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM WHAT THAT DID TO BIOWARE.
