EA's comments are quite offensive. What a bunch of clueless morons. Everyone knows the upcoming consoles are only as strong as the PCs from 2 years ago. No wonder EA is quickly imploding! No PC gamer should ever spend money on their products

Yeah sure...GTX 780 alone worthies more than Xbox one or PS4.if they are "a generation ahead of PC"how is it that you can't install Office World 2013 on em?wait wait if they are "a generation ahead of PC" why don't you type a book with your Xbox 1 controller to prove it?I dare you!i bet you can finish it sooner than a typist with a PC!After all your consoles are "A generation ahead" they should be capable of such simple things!

I really doubt that these consoles are beyond the PC market, top line custom builds with quad SLI are likely the most powerful gaming rigs, and those can cost thousands of dollars. I really doubt that either Microsoft or Sony have been able to take 3,000-4,000 dollars in hardware performance and package it under 500.
That said, the Xbox One and PS4 are very likely far faster and powerful than the average gaming PC sold in retail. I would hope they would be, as the hardware platform has to be pushed for the next 5-8 years without upgrades. I could see Microsoft/Sony pushing $1000 of hardware into a product they sell for $400-$500. Sony did that last time with the PS3, they took a loss on the hardware for a few years but it paid off in the long run.

LOL Correct me if I'm wrong but as long as they keep pumping out motherboards, video cards and cpu coolers etc etc, there will always be more money made in the PC end of gaming which is why consoles will always lag behind. If they even some how even the playing field or consoles jumped ahead of PC gaming then buying a stationary non interchangeable gaming machine would kill the PC gaming market correct? To much money invested in that market for that to ever happen right?

I laugh at PC gamers who only thinks of gaming experience as more powerful hardware. Hardware power is useless without innovations. The XBOX One has the Kinect 2 which itself is already a USP...no other companies has anything close. Coupled with a complete ecosystem to support social computing and gaming intergration and a very unique cloud computing capabilities. The XBOX One is truly a revolution.

Can you get the Oculous Rift for XBox One? Does it handle 2560x1440 without resorting to upscaling or blurring? Have you heard of things such as Steam? Why would I want to be reliant on Microsoft's servers? Or my temperamental overhead phone line that has to renegotiate the ADSL link when it rains heavily?

Don't use the word revolution unless you want to overthrow the government. Don't use it then because it will raise warnings in the surveillance software.

o crap, I typed the computational numbers wrong. My bad, sorry about that.

Still, if it starts at such power, regardless being about on par with mid-range GPU to date, it still a hell lot of processing power right there. Remember what the previous console GPU was? While it's true that it were the next-gen GPU when released, by today standart it's pretty weak. And the developers still able to pull off somewhat great visual experience despite being mechanically impaired and most of the time stuck on 720p(and often hardly maintain smooth-play either). Imagine the possibilities if the developers had a start with spec like PS4 has right now!

Not to mention the fundamental difference between PC vs Console. PC just had too much constraint on itself, despite having better hardware. OS, latency, scheduling, you name it. While developing software on console, developers know what was in there and what to expect to happens, and abuse the hell out of it. And the architectural designed on PS4, just by looking at specs alone, safe to say it's even faster than any High-End PC that stuck with DDR3 we all have in common. And console will always be much, much more efficient. A same piece of hardware does not behave the same way. Remember 7600GT? I can't recall mine has any closest resemblance having on par performance like what PS3 did. Even with Q6600 and 2x2GB DDR3 1333. I need roughly 1 or 2 tier higher GPU to even match what PS3 was able to pull off. I manage to do so with 4670 back then.

So in some sense, I think what Taneja said is partially correct indeed, but not entirely wrong either. Since PC's industry are moving really, really fast by the last 10 years. And evolving to a much better and even cheaper, but if my memories of my issues for the last 3 years running gaming center correct, I don't think people on the factory care about longevity...

XBOX One on the other hand...the DDR3 in it won't be much of a hurdle at first, but give it some time. The PS4 will proven to gives better visual fidelity over it as future games became much more demanding than the first releases. Despite being released on the same gen.

ROFL...It sounds like they're all afraid nobody will buy these and in desperation are now trying to upsell the junk in them. 1080p for 8yrs with this junk. I can buy a few 780's and push WAY past that. EA is one of the FEW companies releasing launch titles. They have a lot riding on you believing these are not junk boxes. If they don't sell 35mil units in the first year they are in trouble with any games in the development cycle. It will be wasted money.
.............(since this stupid comment system ignores CR's.............
I'll say it again...Consoles are dead, they are no longer alone and in a year or two tablets will top them with kepler etc inside. For the next 8 years they will rev new versions from all soc vendors. In the next year or two 4K TV's will become norm (even Intel is pushing them, along with samsung, lg etc). Game devs will flock to more power and it won't be found in some dumb box stuck in stone for 8yrs at 1080p.

Kinetic ... never thought of it as anything serious. If a game is inmersive enought, you dont need to move to it to feel "in the game".

laugh is good, so do as much of it as you can 😀.

"a complete ecosystem to support social computing" (care to explain this? im assuming you talk about all the things that pcs also have.).

"unique cloud computing capabilities" - Dosent mean anything. Once its working we will see if its even a positive thing or a negative thing, much less decide on how good it is.

Your post looks more like a rant rather that presenting facts.
