Saw the benchmarks today, actually nothing wrong with AMD cards, only Nvidia lol. The 7900XTX runs it 120fps smooth like a butter 4K, the 6700XT is the one to play it at 60fps 1080l but so is the 3070.. it's a game that favors AMD and it's ok, good for AMD owners. It's not EA to patch this but Nvidia
It's an AMD sponsored title. It's literally optimized for AMD hardware. No, it is NOT on Nvidia to fix anything. It's on the people who optimized the game for AMD hardware.

Btw, outside of two crashes that seem to be temperature related, the game ran very well on my 3070Ti and 12100F all afternoon. And as others said, no, AMD doesn't run significantly better. Look at Reddit, for example. Or other posts on this forum. Or, heck, just simply look at the dev announcement. And stop talking nonsense, please.

Also, no, it's not okay when a game runs well on one company's GPU but not the other. Absolutely NOT okay.

I think you clearly got this wrong. The reason why Nvidia cards are very CPU limited at 1080p and 1440p is because they don't use hardware scheduling. This was something that Hardware Unboxed covered when they reviewed Ampere. I don't think Nvidia did anything to address this issue with Ada. On the other hand, this is where AMD have an advantage. But of course the argument is that people buying a RTX 4090 for example, are less likely to game at lower resolution.

Exactly. I played last night for an hour at 4K 60 Ultra (Epic) settings and outside of a couple quick stutters when I was going up a wall I was at 60 fps the whole time.

The game needs adjusting but I'm definitely not experiencing the sky is falling fps issues that are plastered all over most reviews.

One reviewer in his talk about the poor 2700X performance (and I quote) said "it's a fairly recent CPU."

Ummmm... a 5 year old CPU is recent? Since when?

I don't want to double post but check my response in the other thread.

4k epic settings with ray tracing + no fsr
at 13:37 he enables fsr quality mode and goes 60-80fps
at 18:50 he disables fsr and goes back to 40s
And? none of that contradicts a word I said. FSR at 4K = 1440 rendering, not 4K. Okay, so it can do 70 FPS on average at 1440p. Is that supposed to be good? It's a far cry from "running smoothly at 120 FPS at 4K" that the guy I was responding to claimed. Plus, that gameplay is riddled with stutters as well, regardless of what settings he changed.

Actually, according to several sites, Nvidia is fine.

Both of these share different tips for getting it going on Nvidia (off to figure out how to disable SMT on my Ryzen lol).

that second link mentions koboh being taxing..hmm its a big map for sure...have it almost finished, found only one spot where some weird performance happens, on pyloon rooftop where you have garden, fps drops there for some odd reason
and galaxy map also drops to 25fps, other than that game runs silky smooth with smt enabled

I started playing it tonight. Here's my lineup:

AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3d
64gb of Gskill ram
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080
Windows 11

Don't know how to measure fps, so I'm eyeballing it for myself (if you know how to set that up, tell me because I don't have instructions lol).

I've got everything set up on 'epic', in 4k mode (don't have an 8k monitor, so that isn't an option) and everything seems to be playing fine so far. Granted, I'm still on the jail scene, but it's nowhere near the torture I was expecting.

Now, there are serious problems in this thing (like it crashing on a 9th generation I9 lol), and I do hope they fix that stuff, but I suspect a lot of these reports were based on early beta testing. Looks like EA got a patch or two out in the meantime.

Enjoy!

It decends into stuttering right outside Rambler's Reach and towards the Raiders outpost near the cliffside for me, also drops to the mid-30 FPS range. Most of Kobo is okay for me, 1440p native with RT on, but I only get 48-68 FPS on the Koboh open world in general with my 4070Ti. The GPU isn'tfully utilized there, either. FSR could as well not exist (yes, I restarted the game when trying).

Meanwhile, on Jedah I had 75-85 FPS and only stuttering when the game decided to crash on me again. That'sabout the performanceI would expect, and GPU utilisation was sitting at 97-99% at almost all times, too. There is something weird going on on Koboh for sure. I will reinstall my GPU driver today, see if it fixes anything. Never had any issues with crashes so far. Only after that damn patch did it start...

Yeah we've got the same spec other than your 4080 and my 4090. I downloaded the patch earlier and didn't notice much difference. I had a few more frame drops into the low 50's for a quick moment but other than that it was at the same solid 60 fps with 70-80% GPU usage and 10-20% CPU usage.

Changing my Nvidia 3D settings from Quality to Performance and back made no difference either.

It's definitely playable as is... but more updates won't hurt.
