Question ECC UDIMM RAM on Intel Platforms ?

Hello!

The specs of the flagship Intel CPUs (i9-12900K, i9-13900K, i9-14900K) do mention support for ECC un-buffered memory modules.

However, I could not find a single motherboard that supports this feature!
Some Gigabyte motherboards do support the usage of ECC UDIMMs, but they mention that they will run in non-ECC mode!

On AMD platforms, ECC UDIMMs are being supported.

QUESTION:
So, why did Intel even bother to add this feature on their flagship CPUs if no motherboard will ever take advantage of it?
(Or, is it out there, at least, one Intel motherboard that does support it?)

That's very interesting.
I've never heard of the W680 chipset.
I am glad that this feature isn't useless.

Those chipsets are used in workstation/server motherboards.

Yeah.

That's, pretty much, a half step from Intel.
I mean, AMD offers ECC support on their consumer chipsets as well.
