ECS K7VTA3 issue with ATI Radeon 9600se

Is there a compadibility issue with these two?
ECS K7VTA3 issue with ATI Radeon 9600se

I cant play Half Life or Battlefield Earth. Keep getings VTU Recover errors and have to hard reboot within seconds of getting into a game.

Have AMD 2500 Barton with 512megs PC2700 ram

It sounds like a power supply issue, but ANYTHING could cause a VIA chipset or an ECS (PC-Chips) board to have issues.
