Apple is ultimately losing to Google without Steve Jobs... During Steve Jobs era, Apple was struggling with Google...

Bottom line is Apple sucks.

[citation][nom]sna[/nom]the real Samsung is the note 2 actually ... but they made a huge mistake making it 5.5 inch[/citation]
I realize that not everyone wants exactly the same thing in a phone (does that make me more savvy than Steve Jobs? 😛 ) but I've had a Note 2 for just over a week now and, in my opinion, the 5.5" screen is exactly right. I'm clearly biased, as an owner, but I personally consider it to be the best phone on the market overall. I did venture into the belly of the beast to check out the iPhone 5 (and the iPad Mini) and it's a nice-looking phone, to be sure, but there's no way I'd have chosen a phone of that size over the Note 2.

Let's see: Android has 52% o the market, Apple has 28%, and that visionary Elon Musk comes to the revelation that Apple will lose to Android. The sheer brilliance of the man is astounding. I mean lets face it, he has determined, by his own entrepreneurial brilliance that 52% market share beats 28% market share. How did we ever get along without this oracle's insights before. I would suggest that he consider sticking to areas in which he may have some expertise, like getting money from the US government, vs trying analyze the smartphone market (in which analysts who have devoted years of effort still can't get a handle on).

In addition, while I have nothing but the out most respect for the Woz, Microsoft being more innovative than anybody, much less Apple, isn't going to happen, at least until such time as Ballmer is out of the picture. Since with the recent bloodletting at Microsoft has only served to eliminate anybody who could replace Ballmer, that possibility is realistically only a long term possibility.

I don't know how much "weight" Cook carries, but I do think that the iPad Mini is an indication that the things are probably on their way to changing at Apple. It is most likely the first product that was NOT influenced by Jobs (the iPhone 5 was the last Jobs influence product) to come to market. The next generation of iOS products will be the (full sized iPad and next generation of iPhone) will show if Apple has "lost it" or not.

[citation][nom]assasin32[/nom]No Zak will post ANYTHING about Apple weither good or bad it is no secret. A lot of which is not any real story or have any real useful content in it either, and is mostly full of speculation where as this is suppose to be a tech website not a Apple speculation one.[/citation]
Except no one complains about speculation of Samsung products or of Android or of anything else mainly. I've even seen people make calls for Apple stories to be removed from Tom's which is absurd.

The fact is, enthusiasts will speculate about what they want or what direction they want technology to go in. Speculation of ANY tech product is good. But like it or not, Apple is a leading tech company right now.
[citation][nom]kartu[/nom]Dear Zak Islam fan, please pay attention to the fact that Android had times the market share of Apple even before Mr Jobbs died.[/citation]
Two things wrong about your comment, first, not a Zak fan, I am merely someone who recognizes that Zak Islam is apparently hired by Tom's to write about Apple and that he writes about things both positive and negative about Apple. Secondly, I have said nothing about Android's market share. I own an Android phone in the form of a Motorola Droid Bionic. While I think Android can stand a LOT of improvement, I have zero interest in an iPhone. I'm neither an iSheep, an iHater nor a blind Android fan kiddie, which seems the majority of those who comment in smartphone articles seem to fall under one or more of those categories. I am merely tired of the hypocrisy and hatred many have shown an author for merely doing the job he is being paid to do and how so many accuse him of being something he obviously is not, a blind Apple fanboy and how the Zak haters tend to ignore he writes articles that cast Apple in a negative light as well, not because one side or the other is his opinion, but because it's just the story.

[citation][nom]NoCompanyLoyalty[/nom..Your argument fails in logic and in math and you seem yo understand little about how the market works. Are you under-aged or an adult?[/citation]
I believe the correct term is "troll".

[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]Comparing iOS to Android as it pertains to smartphone market share is ludicrous. iOS is on what 4 different devices and Android is on several hundred. Take the 4 top selling Android smartphones then compare those to iOS. No contest on a level playing field. iOS wins by a landslide.[/citation]

Look at Samsung's sales figures for last quarter, then we'll talk...

"it really makes a difference who runs the company."

...and that is why we want to see Steve Ballmer removed from his CEO position at Microsoft. Bring back Gates! Bring in someone who knows that Windows primary market should be to appeal to businesses and the office environment. The real money is there! Don't lose focus on this, or else businesses might start looking elsewhere for their computing needs. Let Apple and Google have the home user market who wants simple, yet colorful UIs that make them feel happy. Businesses need functionality! Stay focused, Microsoft!

I think it's a little late to make this prediction now that it's all but determined, and further, it was already over before Steve Jobs became ill. The momentum has been on Google's side for years now.

It's kind of misleading to call it Google's side though. It's Google + the rest of the tech industry vs. Apple. That's what happens when you get greedy and want the whole pie though. Apple wouldn't share, and now the pie is being taken away.
