I'm having trouble figuring out how to enable my Intel integrated graphics alongside my GTX 480 in order to use Quick Sync for stream encoding. I'm using a 3570k and a P8H77-V LE, which have Intel Integrated 4000 and support integrated graphics, respectively. However, only my GTX 480 shows up in the Windows Device Manager, which I assume is because the motherboard automatically disables the integrated graphics when there's a discrete card in the system. I've looked through the BIOS settings and haven't found anything that looks like an option (I've seen several threads mention looking for iGPU Multi Monitor or something like that) to enable integrated graphics at all times, so am I out of luck or is there another way?

I don't think I understood half the words you're using, but I know that this software exists:

It allows both the discrete graphics card and the integrated card to run at the same time.

Be warned though: it's not compatible with all games, and I stopped using it because it crashed a few of my games.

Sorry, I was quite tired while writing that. Pretty much, Intel has a technology called Quick Sync that allows you to use your integrated graphics for video encoding. This is useful for livestreaming, as it results in a much lower performance hit than normal CPU encoding. I'm trying to get it to work on my desktop, but the integrated graphics aren't showing up as a display adapter in Windows, and you can't exactly use something that Windows doesn't see. My guess is that my motherboard automatically turns off the integrated graphics when there's a graphics card, and I was wondering if there was a way to turn it back on since I was unable to find anything like that in the BIOS.

USE INTEL QUICK SYNC FROM INTEGRATED GFX WHILE USING DISCREET AMD/NVIDIA GFX CARD

Enable Intel graphics card in BIOS

Check your PC BIOS User Manual or instructions to see how to enable Intel integrated graphics (iGPU). Enable Intel graphics and save BIOS changes.

Click with mouse right button on the desktop to show menu and select Screen Resolution.

Click Apply button and Keep changes.

Your displays setup should look similar like on the picture below. Click OK button to close Screen Resolution settings.

You have now enabled the onboard integrated HD Graphics, and should be able to select Intel QuickSync in your video conversion software when converting to MP4.

Hi There,

I am hoping that you will be able to assist and that this will assist other users in future.

System Specs, Desktop:

GA-Z97X-Gaming GT (rev. 1.0)

Intel® Core™ i7-4790 Processor

Kingston HyerX Beast - 32GB Kit* (4x8GB) - DDR3 2400MHz Intel XMP CL11 DIMM (Part Number: HX324C11T3K4/32)

GEFORCE GTX 970 HOF 4GB

CoolerMaster v1000

SANDISK EXTREME PRO SSD 480GB

Windows 10 Pro x64 v1511 Build 10586.218

I have read that Microsoft has enabled in DirectX 12 the use of Multi-adapter where the Intel HD GPU boosts performance of the Discrete GPU by working to together:

PCGamer

WccfTech

Intel (Can some explain how to use/install this and if this will utilize both Intel HD Gfx and Discrete Gfx)

I am wanting to enable/setup this feature but unable to access the HD Control Panel(it does not open), thus unable to confirm use of this feature? Is this possible?

I have recently done a fresh re-install of Windows and have updated everything to the latest drivers(even my Bios) and installed all the latest drivers for my Intel I7 4790(HD4600) drivers from intel(15.40.18.4380). Just as a side note, when using the Intel driver update facility, it recommends intalling/downgrading/replacing 20.19.15.4380 with 15.33.38.64.4252(which doesn't seem compatible with Windows 10??).

I have also tried to manuall intstall the context menu(not working).

See attached.

So,

(1) if you may detail, why I am unable to access the Intel HD control panel(when installed and run as administrator)? It looks like the drivers have been installed. It seems there are users experiencing similar problems?

(2) if you may detail where/how to install/copy/configure Intel HD graphics to work with the external discrete graphics(GTX970) to boost FPS performance in gaming.

Is there an Intel guide/link/youtube page detailing this? If not may this possibly be investigated?
