This is digging way back in the history books. I have several Maxtor XT-1140 5.25" full height drives that I'd like to be able to read. I'm looking for an external enclosure that would have SCSI or some kind of interface I have a chance of being able to read with a modern computer. Anyone have any pointers to where I might find such a beast? Thanks, Greg

The XT-1140 could be formatted either MFM or RLL. The Adaptec ACB-4000A could be used if the drive is formatted as MFM, or the Adaptec ACB-4070 could be used if the drive is formatted as RLL. Both of these controllers can be used to connect one of these older drives to a SCSI (SASI compatible) controller.

Sweet, thanks! I'll give them a try.
