Hi

I'm asking because I bought this game used and with all the secrets
unlocked.
I wanted to unlock them myself, but I can't find an option to reset the
game data. Is there actually one?

thanks for your help

Not sure if it works for every game, but the basic way to do it for a
lot of games is something like this: Hold down L, R, Select, and Start,
then turn the power ON. I believe it is all four buttons, or at least
some combination of them, but again, it may not work for all games.

Did not work with this one.
If you press L+R and select+start, the game stops at the "game boy" screen
(the first screen when you turn the power on).
Then you have to press a or b and the game starts normal, but with all the
data restored :-(

thanks anyway

Sorry, I was mistaken. I just checked my Metroid Zero Mission guide, and
it says to hold down L+R when turning the power on, and an option should
appear to erase all data. You might try that, but again it might just be
for metroid.

Does the save data in GBA games disappear if you take the battery out of
the cartridge or does it have flash ram?

Just wondering. It may be a radical solution if you have a tripoint
screwdriver.

Hmm

because the games have to work with the normal gba as with the sp, i think
it is flash ram. so this probably won't work.

thanks for your help

How a given game saves its game-state (flash RAM or battery) is entirely
cartridge dependent... whether it's played in a normal GBA or an SP is
irrelevant.
