Erratic cursur

How do I correct an erratic cursur, it jumps all over the place I can't even type one sentence w/o it jumping some where else. thanks Jeanne

Is it a laptop computer? You may be touching the mouse-pad while typing.

Some laptops have a sensitivity control to make a more deliberate touch necessary to activate/move the mouse.


Start>Control Panel>Pointer and other hardware>Mouse>

From there look around the different tabs, maybe a sensitivity adjustment exist.
I don't use a laptop here but I've seen it in other computers.

If it's a laptop, I'd do what Tigsounds says, but if it's a regular computer, you might have the cursor speed set too high.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Mouse, Pointer Options, Motion

Then set the speed to something lower if it's really high.
