Hey,

My internet speed is only 90 mbps when its supposed to be 1000mbps idk what to do.

I think problem is somewhere here when ethernet shows intel (R) ethernet connection(2) l219-V and i think it should say killer ethernet gigabit controller or something.

i got cat 6 cable so should not be that and my ethernet says its 1 Gbps.

Solution
Generally the machine is smart enough to get the chipset correct. It would not say it was itel if it was killer. If you have a dual nic machine maybe it is the other port.

In general you want to avoid killer stuff. They have too many bugs....and microsoft like to break their stuff with patches even when they don't their own bugs to worry about.

90mbps is a very telling number. I bet it somewhere like 92-94.

This means the port is running at 100mbps. You can see it in the status for the adapter. Since you machine can run gigabit it means the router has 100mbps ports or you have a defective cable. Make sure you do not have something dumb like it set to 100mbps in the settings. You want it set to auto.

Cables are...

Cables are really strange when they fail. They can work on some machine and not others. And sometime they randomly work for a while at 1gbit and then drop to 100mbps. Generally it is some physical damage to one of the ends. Can't really be fixed since you have to cut the end off and put a new one on. For most people it is cheaper and easier to just buy another cable.

Be very careful there is lots of fake cable on the market. You want pure copper cable (no CCA) It needs wire size 22-24 so none of that flat or thin cable. Your current cable could be one of these fakes and can cause problems like you see. You do not need any fancy cables though cat5e will run 1gbit fine

Solution
No it would always stay under 100mbps if it was a cable issue. You can look at the port status to see if it is connected at 1gbit.

When the speed changes it is much harder to find. If you have a second computer try running a old line mode program called iperf between them. You should get over 900mbps in both directions. This tests the nic and the drivers. You could also try to copy files between the machine and watch the resouce manager network tab for the speeds. This is not a simple test since it also has files and disk involved
