Question Ethernet not working?

My Ethernet on my computer will work after I restart the computer for about 2 mins and then turn off and say Ethernet no internet and switch to wifi. I’ve searched all online and still after a few days and a new cord can’t get it to work. I’m stumped. The only way I can get it to work again is to restart. But then it only works for that 2min.

A new cable generally fixes this but be sure you are using quality cables. Many fake cables being sold. If you are using flat or thin cable that is all fake cable.

This a pretty low level hardware stuff when a port is going disconnected. There are not much related to software. Check that you do not have any the so called "green" or power save options set. You can check the driver level but it is not likely the issue.

At some point you consider using a replacement port using a internal PCIE slot if you have one you can use. You can also consider using a USB3 adapters but there is slightly more CPU overhead compared to internal pcie cards.
