I built a pc which has had no issues its now around 2 years old and the Ethernet port stopped working, it lights up orange or red and the wifi has stopped too.
I have then bought a NICGIGA 2.5G Base-T PCIe Network Adapter, Realtek RTL8125B 2.5Gbps/1Gbps/100Mbps PCI Express. When i added this to the pc i get code 10 and sometimes code 12 errors but all lights are green and windows says its disabled and refuses to enable it. however after install wifi works again and if i remove the card wifi stops again i tried in various ports and it doesn’t light up in some and the pci x16 slot it disables my onboard graphics and i cant even access bios I’m thinking of ordering a different adapter and sending this one back but i don’t want the same problems. have also considered ditching the motherboard altogether too.

current system
5600g
MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI
Corsair Vengeance 32gb 3600
seagate hd
Windows 11

get this error
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

That is very strange it does note even show ethernet ports on the ipconfig. I suspect the bluetooth one is on the wifi card because of the mac address.

If you dig around the device manager do you even see the ethernet adapters do they seem to have the proper device drivers.

Although you can have a bad ethernet port on the motherboard adding one via a pcie slot would fix that. It would take a very serious motherboard issue for a add in card to not show up, most times you would lose your video card first.

i see the light on the adapter in the case and in device manager it has a yellow triangle next to it and it picks and chooses what error code it gives me 10 OR 12 I think and it also says its not working/connected. Every time I try to uninstall the driver by the time I access the one I want to install it says best driver is already installed. I have since tried another adapter same issue although no Wi-Fi when I take the adapter out. I then tried a speed test online and get wired speeds as the result 36mbps download and 6 upload has this tested my connection to pc or just the connection to the house.
