There's no words for this. everything down the checklist is all perfect.

I even reached out to internet company and also router manufacturer, there's no reason for this.

I am not able to use my router. It says it won't get internet even though the cable is plugged into it.

I tried a wifi range extender to make an access point, but that says the modem is not giving internet.

I have plugged the modem into laptops and they get internet fine. This is a mess and I've never experienced this before, up until now. Any time I attach a router or extender to the modem and the internet works. umm, i pay for internet...

So a very simple thing many people do not know. Cable modems tend to lock onto the first mac address they see after boot.

From what I have seen every time you change the device you have plugged into the modem you must power cycle the modem. Not sure why this restriction exists.

If this does not fix it then it become much more complex. There are setting on the WAN port of the router that can mess thing up. The defaults work most internet connections. Some rather strange ones require passwords etc. Maybe factory reset the router just to be sure the wan port is running with the default setup.
