The I7-920 gives great performance when playing flight simulators regardless of the GPU so maybe not much improvement in a FPS but CPU intensive games get a real boost.
 
Hmm, strange to hear that the processor doesn't make much difference ing gaming and honestly that's what I thought before upgrading from a Q6600 to a i7-930. I used the same video card (Radeon 5850), Q6600, 4GB RAM and then upgraded to the i7-930, 6GB RAM and used the same Radeon 5850 and started getting up to 60 FPS more in BC2 than when I was with my previous build. I have a hard time believing that the RAM made the ALL the difference because I never really maxed my RAM out before w/4GB of RAM while gaming.
