Expirencing a flickery on my games when I run them in 4K

I recently bought an MSI 980ti, and have been running games in 4K. The problem is that when the screen moves to much I experience some kind of flickery, and was wondering if it had something to do with my processor, since I tried it in a 4k Display and a 1080 display, and it happens in both of them.

I have:
GPU: GTX 980 Ti
CPU: Intel i5-3570K 3.4GHz
Memory: 16 GB Ram
Windows 8.1 PRO

is the 4k display in DP 1.2 mode?
are your cables good to perform 4k resolution? if the cables are not approved for 4k then you can´t have good performance
