[SOLVED] External Hard Drive saving issues

I am trying to install programs onto my external HDD from my Mac, but whenever I try to do so it tells me that the file/application is damaged and I instantly have to move it to the bin. Whenever I download the same file onto my Mac it works fine and is executable. These are programs such as Python, VS Code etc.

run some type of disk check software on the HD and see if it is having read/write issues or if other errors are produced.
