[SOLVED] External storage for Macbook Pro

I have a Macbook Pro 2019 and want to have an external storage for it. I will be using it for storage and copying files back and forth from it to the macbook. Is the Samsung T5 1TB enough for my use case or should I buy a Thunderbolt 3 M.2 SSD enclosure and pair it with a 970 EVO PLUS 1TB?

Are any of these files important or are they ok to lose if your drive dies? ie- do you have them backed up?

As for which, the only difference is speed. Do you need the speed of an NVME drive for an external drive?

I’ll just be using it for storage. And copying back and forth from the storage to the macbook. Files such as Time Machine, photos, movies, and various other files.

It's up to you if you want to spend the extra money for a Thunderbolt NVME drive adapter over a normal Sata3 drive.
Samsung's tend to have great reliability.
