So these profiteers want to stip everyone of all privacy and do what they want when they want and make billions of it... And they are complaining that the laws are a step in this direction... </facepalm>

..The law also allows consumers to delete the data companies have on them..

The data is never actually deleted, just flagged as inaccessible to the user... Pointless! And who polices this?

..The best way is to work toward developing our own blueprint.”..
God help us all if these leeches write their own blueprint..

..because it would apply to too many people and websites...
Too many? It should apply to everyone. Privacy is not just for a select group it is for everyone.

Letting these companies, ESPECIALLY FB and Google, write these laws/rules/regulations is like handing the keys to the jail to the prisoners. The consumer WILL get the shaft. I say the privacy groups have a better shot than these corporations, and definitely more knowledge than our politicians who ambitions don't include learning what needs to be learned and doing something that actually will improve privacy for the consumer.
