I don't care if they use DRM, its the fact the steam sucks. I own the Orange Box and didn't install because you need steam. I am all for logging into say a Bethesda server to authenticate, but to have to use a third party auth. service(Steam) to do so...SUCKS!The PC version will use Valve's Steam for DRM, requiring gamers to set up an account during installation. However Steam will also offer player achievements, cloud save storage, and other features.
I don't see your point here. Did you actually play Fallout 3? It was "Games for Windows Live", meaning you needed a XBox Live account to play and update the game.
My doubt here is why didn't they just used Steam services in the first place?
With steam you just launch the game and you're ready to go. With Live, I first launch the game and sometimes wait an eternity until it logs in and validates my account, specially when it remembers there is an update to Live and you can't play before updating...
Personally I was not into Steam-like services... until I tried it! It's this kind of services that are keeping PC gaming alive. No hard copies to scratch and brake at home, no dusty DVDs, the game is available for download from your account in any PC, etc...
