Question Fan not spinning on Msi laptop

Hi Community,

I own a older Msi Gaming Laptop GL72 6QD
The fan only spins from time to time(and when it doesn't of course it overheats)
I've replaced thermal paste, had the fan replaced, dusted out the laptop + checked if cables and everything is plugged in properly and ultimately updated the bios with no luck so far.
I cannot seem to find the fan setting in bios nor does it show up on speedfan program. Can anyone share insight to a solution?

I've had a similar issue on a Dell laptop. Turned out to be that the motherboard was the weakest link and the only thing to do was replace the motherboard, which was about half the cost of the laptop, brand new. If you're adept with a multimeter, perhaps inspect the motherboard for any (power delivery)component that might be faulty. If you're not adept with a multimeter, it's best you take the laptop into a certified repair shop.
