Question Fans run after PC shutdown (sometimes)

Hello! I’m fairly new to PC’s so I would appreciate any help!
My issue is that when I shut down my PC using the normal method via windows shutdown or use the power button, my case rgb turns off but all the fans keep running (ssd activity light turns off too). The weird part is that it works sometimes so it’s a bit random. I’m forced to hold the power button but I don’t want to continue doing this. I tried turning off fast startup, cmos clear, updating to latest bios.
Thanks in advanced!

Nothing unusual.
When the cpu is hot after running under load, you do not want to suddenly stop cooling it.
Many motherboards will continue running the fan for a while.
Look at the motherboard fan profile settings.

But, if the fan never turns off, investigate.

And, as a suggestion, instead of powering off, use sleep to ram(no hibernate)
Your pc and monitor will enter a very low power state.
The benefit is that sleep/wake is much faster than booting.

Thanks for the response!

How long would it take for the fans to shut off? I’m scared to leave it on for too long while the monitor is shut off.

my mobo is ds3h b600m ax (relatively new mobo)

Thank you so much!

You were absolutely right. Not sure why I couldn’t find any info on this anywhere else.

You’re a lifesaver. Thanks again!
