Get like a big file. Video, ISO, anything like 1GB or bigger (The bigger the better) Do this on BOTH PC's
Make sure sharing without a password is enabled. To do so right click on networking Icon next to clock --> Networking and Sharing Center --> Change advanced sharing settings on left side -->
Make sure they are both on Private Network and not public. To change it look it up on google. Make sure under private Network Discovery, File and printer sharing and turned on then under All Networks (Will have to click arrow to the right of it to expand it) that Password Protected Sharing is turned OFF.
Once that is done go to the C drive, make a new folder. just call it share or whatever you want. Right click on it and go to properties. On the security tab click on edit and then Add the user Everyone and give them full permissions. Then ok out of that. Then go to the sharing tab, click on Advanced Sharing, check the box to share this folder then click on permissions and give Everyone full control.
Once that is done on both PC's copy a Big file on there (Could just be from ONE PC Don't need the big file on both)
Then find out what the computer name is of both PCs. For Exampled I will just do PC1 and PC2. Once the file is copied on one of the PCs into the share folder go to the OTHER PC.
Lets say the file is on PC1.
So right click on the start menu and then click on Run. On run type in \\PC1 and hit enter. it SHOULD bring up a window that has that share folder. Open up that share folder and now copy it to the shared folder on your C drive. just open up C drive and copy it to that folder. See how fast it transfers.
Then go to PC 2 do the same thing. Right click on Start, then Run, then \\PC2. Open the share folder and copy it to anywhere on your C drive. See how fast it goes. The SSD's though be faster than what your network can handle so it should max out the network. I know when i do SSD to SSD on my network which is all gigabit i get 90+MB a second
