Ok so i just tested both of my ram sticks in each slot and i appear to have a faulty ram socket in slot 1. I put both ram sticks into slot 2 individually and it booted fine both times. But whenever i put any of the sticks in slot 1 my pc does not boot. Is there any possible solutions to this other than replacing my motherboard? When both sticks are installed this is what it says in task manager

no other possible way than replacing the mobo. And i gotta say im sad to see only 1200mhz on r5 2600.You should triple that when buying a new mobo.I would highly suggest this: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M Pro4/

And this ram:https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK16GX4M2B3600C18

upgrading ram will give you 50+ fps i can garranty on that

Solution
would i be able to get away with just a single 16gb stick of ram running at 3000mhz?
I really dont want to replace my mobo as i dont know what im doing with pc parts.
im not looking to game at 4k 140 fps i just want a pc i can run popular games comfortably with decent graphics

yeah the 1 stick of 16gb 3000mhz speed will be okay, but its prefered to go dual stick but doe to the situation you cant.If you have money go for the: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Predator-High-Performance-HX436C17PB4K2/dp/B07GNFHXZ1?th=1

Dont really want to be spending above £100 really so ill go for the 3000-3200mhz?
yeah nice, that will to the job better than the 1200 for sure.
I honestly have to admit i havent seen anybody with 1200mhz on ryzen.I mean its just unheard off,but i understand if you didnt have the money or knowledge to unerdtand how much ryzen favors fast ram.The 3200mhz will be better than 3000mhz and the price is not that diffenent.Good luck :)

My pc was a pre build and the only thing i upgraded was my cpu to the ryzen 5 2600 without realising how much ram it would be sucking up. but once i get this new 16gb stick will most games run minimum 60fps?
