Fax notification icon & answer fax ballon

Explain why the fax notification icon and baloon do not
appear when the phone rings. I have configured the fax
setup to answer manually from the fax icon balloon. This
is imposible since the baloon does not appear. Do you have
any suggestions? My friends computer has this capability
and I can't figure why mine doesn't.

A number of standard update and repair procedures disabled the Fax Monitor
in the initial release of Windows XP. These problems were fixed in Service
Pack 1. Make sure you apply SP1 if you notice this problem. The following
