Field Goal by Taito

Is it possible to convert a Taito Field Goal boardset to run Space
Invaders? A friend of mine has asked me, but as far as I can find out
this boardset uses a 6800 CPU for starters ......... so at the very
least it would need some board hacking and/or modified code.
