I have an ASUS RTX 3080 Strix OC on preorder. I've had it on order since launch day, but apparently I wasn't first in the queue, since I still haven't received it.
I'm getting pretty tired of not having a GPU for my new PC...
Now, the RX 6800 XT launches in a week. Should I try to compete for that, and then cancel the order if I get it, or should I just stick with my preorder?
I'm unsure, since I'm using an i7 10700K, so I wont have access to the SAM stuff, and now rumors are going around that Nvidia will make something similar which is compatible for either CPU.
I currently run 1080p 144hz, but I'm planning to upgrade into 1440p 144hz+ at some point. I have no plans to go into 4k in the near future, so I'm not sure if the VRAM difference will have any significant impact for future-proofing.
I think Ray Tracing looks really good in games like Watch Dogs Legion and I'm definitely planning on using it where possible.
What would you do? It seems like benchmarks only release on the launch day itself, so stock will be gone when they go live...
