So, my MSI Gaming Edge B550 motherboard came with a faulty wi-fi card. When I realized the issue, I bought a new i-Fi card which has delivered optimal speeds, until now.

However, due to the fact I have two cards, I have been unable to update my wi-fi drivers. I keep getting the “system thread not handled” error, even though I used device manager to disable the built-in card. I thought I could remove the built-in card as a workaround, as the board’s manual says it’s behind the M.2 slot. I popped the M.2 slot off and there’s nothing there.

Thank you for reading this far and any advice is very appreciated. I know this is an incredibly stupid situation.

Try disabling the onboard WiFi adapter in the BIOS instead.

Where are you getting the driver for your purchased WiFi adapter from?

What is the model of your new WiFi adapter?

What Windows version are you running?

How do I disable the onboard adapter from BIOS?

My built-in card is the Ax200 and the new card is the Ax210 so I’m getting the drivers from here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/204836/intel-wifi-6e-ax210-gig/downloads.html
