I've never built a machine before so I'm looking for recommendations and a parts list if possible.

My goals for this build are:
  • Have it be a solid intro to gaming rig, not a gamer now but looking to get into it. Especially want to play RDR2 (I know I'm behind the times)
  • I do 3d modeling and rendering as a side hobby, nothing intense but I would like the rig to be able to handle it at a reasonable speed.
  • Spend ~$900-1100 if possible. I have all the peripherals already

Thanks so much in advance!

AMD is going to be the suggested platform, likely a 3600 and B450 motherboard.

Now here's going to be the issue at least with RD2. That game murders the best graphics cards available today. I have a 2070S with a 3800x and you can only push the details so far before it turns into a slide show. It's a really nice looking game nonetheless.

Thank you! Anything you'd upgrade first here?

If there was one item from this build you'd upgrade, given a couple extra hundred bucks, what would it be?
Yepp, I concur the above two posts...
