I bought a base system for a good price at circuit city. Its a Lenovo H430 Desktop

CPU: Intel i3 2130 3.4 ghz
8GB
1TB
Integrated graphics card
Intel H61 express chipset
64-bit
Windows 8

I am wanting to upgrade so that I can play current gen games on high settings with good FPS. Where should I go? what are my upgrade actions/Paths?

Solution
if u are not going SLI ever with a gtx 780,770,760 and u plan to upgrade your cpu in the futre to an i5-4760k or an i7-4770k you should get a 650w 80plus gold ,bronze or platinum certified( dont do cheap on these ones, I would suggest a corsair hx650) about the black strip conector, I have no Idea about that since I´m no moteborad expert haha ( dont forget to pick the best answer) hope to have helped u!

the thing that would do the most difference is the GPU. if u get a good one like the gtx 760 or the gtx770 u should be able to run any games on high graphics. now if u want to make a good investment u should get a gtx780. yes it´s a 600+ dollars but u still get to win batman arkaham origins, assasins creed black flag and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist ( that´s a holiday gift from nvidia) and u will pretty much run any game on ULTRA settings with killer fps for the next 3yrs. for later upgrade u should get an Intel Core i5-4670K , wich is one of the best CPUs on the market for gaming

Ok so my question, will the gtx 760, 770 or 780 viable for my system. I get confused on the whole pci x20 or pce/pci-e and the slots. Forgive if I butchered those terms. I just don't want to send like 300 $ and have it not match/fit my system.

Ok thanks. Off the top of my head I know my cpu Id is 206a7 there's a machine type/model number as well. But I don't remember seeing anything that says MOBO or motherboard in the Bios. And I have not found any identification number on the motherboard herself unless it's on the back side which wouldn't make sense.
I will be doing a double check when I get home in the next hour or two.

looking on my computer. only ID number i can see is CIH61MIV1.1

the type of motherboard i believe it is a Lenovo Mahobay. that is really all the information I have gotten. I looked at my Bios nothing about motherboard. Just info about CPU, the ID number for CPU machine type/model number. and system UUID. but thats all i could find.

I did a little research, and everything that I found is that the intel h61 supports the gtx 760,770,780 and that the lenovo h430 its a full tower case, in that beeing sad, the gtx 760,770,780 should fit in your case without any problem

ok thanks for the help. I was looking at stuff last night, and so the long black strip connector should be a PCI-E slot? and the three smaller versions just below that long strip should be PCI slots?

And with the new graphics card I should probably buy a new power supply right? because I believe my current one is just a 180W. and any recommendations based off of those recommended cards?
