First PC build and comp wont wake from sleep

Win 10, AMD 8350, ASROCK 970 mobo, RX 460, 16g of ram, 1t hdd

As I said, this is my first build and it runs great. I can restart and it runs fine, but I tried to put it to sleep for the first time today and it would not wake up. I tried the power button which got the fans running but got nothing on my monitor. Tried to reset it but only got a no signal on the screen. Eventually just reset it by powering it down from PSU. Booted just fine after that.


New to all this so no idea where to start to fix it.

Happens.... check the BIOS settings for types of sleep. should be 2 types. switch modes and try it.

Also, if a desktop, disable Hibernate. I've seen it cause to many problems.

What exact make and model PSU do you have? Old models and some low end PSU's wont support the various power states of a modern motherboard and CPU.

The mobo and cpu were purchased at the same time a few years ago and gifted to me so they are from the same era. The PSU is a brand new 500w bronze coolermaster.

I see it occasionally... Did you try the Sleep options in the Bios?
