[SOLVED] First Time Building a PC (Gaming/VideoEditing) May I have some feedback?

Hello,

I'm building my first PC and don't know what I'm doing. I've basically been comparing and contrasting with other builds people have made in the past. The only reason why I'm not using those builds is because some of them are a couple years old and I don't want to get things that are "out of date" or "on their way out."

I need this PC for video editing and Gaming. I'm not editing anything heavy so far, just some interviews, so I don't mind it taking a while to export files. As for gaming, it's been a year since I've played anything and I just want a smooth running game! I use to have a kickass gaming laptop but the motherboard went kaput and that's the end of that.

I've attempted to make a build and here it is:

Again, I don't know what I'm doing and I just want some help making sure this all checks out, I really did just guess most of this. I would love some recommendations of how I could improve or make things less expensive, especially if I can upgrade them in the future. I'm trying to stay under $1000.

I changed you to a Ryzen 3000 CPU, less cores but better for gaming by a significant amount. Also changed your RAM to faster since Ryzen does better with it. Also changed from a RX590 to a GTX1660 which is a better card.

The only issue may be the motherboard BIOS, which may need to be updated. However the Mobo you chose doesn't require a compatible CPU already installed to do it,

For your case you may want to look at the Corsair Carbide SPEC-04, its only a few bucks more and IMO a nicer case, but I didn't changed it on the list, just a suggestion.

Another change which may cost alittle more, is a better PSU. Newegg has the Corsair TXM 550 and 650 Watt for 70 dollars after a 20 dollar rebate and I think it would be wise to spend the money.

Finally you may want to consider a SSD, even 500GB as your boot drive. Crucial MX500 are usually pretty cheap and are good drives.
