Fixing a Leaky AIO Liquid Cooler, Then Using Toothpaste For Thermal Paste

Thanks. Yeah i have changed some things since i first posted, but all's well. I am a little worried about the toothpaste though. I have changed it out about 3 or 4 times but I'm going to order some arctic silver 5
 
judahg460 - Did you ever consider an external feature to your loop that incorporated a peltier plate? I purchased a 12v peltier and played a little with it but because it cooled to below freezing it frosted up with condensation. Dangerous in a closed case. I have an open-air PC (no case but rather a test bed) and it cooled the cpu to a surprising extent.
 


Most AIOs use a glycol mix for their coolants, primarily because the copper base plate and aluminum radiator would be conductive and corrosive with one another.
 
You could go with a 25-40% automotive coolant to water mixture if you wanted. Otherwise, you can find antimicrobial/anti-fungus growth drops for fish tanks and other things at most retailers that carry pet supplies.

I do commend you for your DIY approach, though. You're on your way to really getting into custom watercooling, which...you've already taken the first steps on what you need to consider for each component need.
