Flashing amber light

Toshiba laptop, 9 years old, new battery, new power adapter, amber light flashes in series of 2 - 4 - 2. Won't power on.

Toshiba laptop, 9 years old, new battery, new power adapter, amber light flashes in series of 2 - 4 - 2. Won't power on.

Think you have to do a "Hard Reset" People have different opinions on how to do this.

Some say take the battery out, hold the power button down for 10 to 30 seconds.
Some say, just hold the power button down, no need to take battery out.

Thanks for replying and the link....I tried everything. Nothing happens. Guess it goes to the repair shop now.
