Folder Customization

I have recently had my laptop upgraded with xp. The background in folders
could be customized before, however with xp I do not seem to be able to do
this, yet some of backgrounds have been copied across, please could somebody
tell me how to change the backgrounds.

Using only XP menus and settings, the customizing of folders is limited to
choosing a template: document, photo, music, etc. The choice determines
what activities will be listed in the new task pane. To customize a folder:
right click on one that you have created. Choose Properties. On the
Customize tab, make your selection.

There is a method to add a customized background to a folder. It's not
supported but if you feel creative, the method to do this is described
under "Folder Backgrounds - Customizing" on the following web page:
