the thing is I want a matching EVGA Superclocked edtion
I know I could use any GTX 480 but call it OCD but after reading about SLI/CF I rather have a matching card for running dual config

My SLI 460's still perform very well against hi end Fermi and ATI cards.

I'd def get exactly the same card to avoid any potential issues.

One of my 460's is now a steady 18k ppd on the 8074 wu's, not bad..

Unified GPU/SMP benchmarking scheme implemented

The unified GPU/SMP benchmarking scheme will be rolled out today on FAH. All the future GPU projects would now be benchmarked using the new scheme. Most of the existing GPU projects have been re-benchmarked to reflect the changes in the benchmarking scheme. We are still in the process of re-benchmarking some old projects assigned to ATI and G80 GPUs. The uniform benchmarking scheme significantly boosts the base points for all GPU projects. However, Quick Return Bonus for the GPU clients has not been introduced at this stage, but will be introduced once we work out an issue on our side. We would like to thank all the beta testers who participated in testing the unified benchmarking scheme.

I tried to run my 7970 just to see if its points had changed at all. The WU crashed instantly 3 times then bluescreened the computer :lol:
Looks like I have some driver work to do before that will work.

in a 78F room I hit 80C on the 480 while folding
last weekend I I had the card folding (no SMP too freaking hot in the room) for over 48 hrs and never went over 80c in 78F
I have a 120mm Antec fan on the side intaking directly on the fan on the card
I have two CM Sickleflow 120mm Blues on the back of the hard drive cage intaking from the front under the HD cage blowing on the card
I have a Antec HCG-750w bottom mounted 135mm fan PSU intaking from bottom and a 200mm Antec Big Boy on top exhausting
with Antec Kuhler 620 LC with two Scythe Ultraze 120mm 133cfm 3k rpm fans in push-pull for the CPU

I will be adding two blue Rosewill 120mm to the side soon and eventually add two 120mm to the front grille

@SMP my 460's rarely get over 60C, how about a couple of superclocked 460's for your collection?

@Mouseman, I think the thought of being passed by a rodent mod has finally given DoubleD the kick up the ass he needed. :lol:
