I don't fold on my main rig. My file server is what I fold on.

It has an i5 2400 and an HD 4870 right now. Going to throw one of my HD 5850's, that I recently removed from my gaming rig, in it soon as they use less power and game better. File server doubles as a WoW rig for friends and family. It really isn't up to par for folding. Some other things have taken priority, so I might be waiting a few weeks before I get anything now.

Got some news for you all.

Changes in Core17: update and move to full fah
November 7, 2013 by Vijay Pande ·

With FAH GPU Core17 taking over the lion share of our calculations, with the older cores (especially core15 and core16) phasing out (as previously announced), we’re rolling out core 17 to full fah (not just adv). This should hopefully resolve the issue that many GPU donors have been seeing in terms of not getting any work, now that Core15 and Core16 jobs are at end of life.

We’ve also released a new update to Core17, version 0.0.52, which is a minor update, with the following changes:

Core17 Release Notes:

-Much more responsive exiting

-Fixed bugs related to visualization for next version of the FAHViewer

-Disabled some internal debug code

-For Windows NVIDIA Users running on a single GPU, we’ve enabled a new feature called temperature control that pauses the core internally. This is disabled by default.

-To enable temperature control, a pair of additional arguments are required:

-tmax (maximum temperature threshold in Celsius), must be less than 110

-twait (minimum wait duration in seconds), must be at least 900

-if temperature > tmax, then the GPU waits for at least twait seconds

-these can be passed in via extra-core-args in the config.xml file :

<slot id=’0′ type=’GPU’>

<extra-core-args v=’-tmax=80 -twait=900′/>

</slot>

-Removed dependency of glib.

Not sure if any of you guys have temp issues with F@H but I guess this could be a plus for additional control. :)

Received my first 8900 work units today.
Is it normal for the usage to constantly bounce between 99-84 percent?

both 460s and 65ti boost exhibit this.
the 460s comp is also running smp but the 65ti boost comp is running without smp. A dual core AMD 7750 @3.0.

continuous bouncing, with occasional short pauses. most of the time it is 94-99 but occasionally drops to 84.
Temps are low 60s to low 70s.
is smp5 now supported or only even numbers?

At least I am off the god awful 8018. Was beginning to think they would never end.

Usually it is because people don't know about it.

I only found out Shark-Finning was still legal in NZ waters because they are banning it in 2016. I thought we had gotten rid of it ages ago.

As those of you that have been around a while know about me, I go strong for a while and then go AWOL, then come back. I have some big ticket purchases coming up and the $100-$120 a month additional on the electric bill has been a drain. I'm gonna throttle things way down until April or May. Sorry.....

By the time you get back I'll be so far ahead of you it'll make your eye's water! 😉

We appreciate everything you do DD
Just dont be a stranger to the F@H thread.
Your advice and opinions are appreciated.

Titans are going on ebay, 290X will handle BF4 and folding on my gaming machine, swapping gpus tonight. Titans will be eventually be replaced with another dedicated 4p or upgrade to the cpus on this one.
