I find it rather surprising that a comment about the game developer, while rude, would cause a ban in the first place.

Seriously, they sound as bad as Apple. And we all know what tyrannical freaks they are... whoops, maybe I won't be able to use my iPod now.

It appears EA has reverted back to being an ultra-evil company. For a while there (Dragon Age, Battlefield: BC2, etc) it appeared they'd turned a corner and were actually giving games what they wanted. No more.

Yeah...the other day when the "big news" came out that they had rediscovered the PC market and were gonna focus on it, all I could think was, "And what will that mean? Probably a totally renewed focus on piracy protection, since they pulled away from PC because of 'lost pirate revenue.'" Sorry, not too excited about this, because it's not going to lead to much good for gamers.

This recent "accidental" swinging of the ban-hammer just proves it.

I've read over the situation at the forums and the ban was more than what is stated here. He was banned for harassing another user in a different thread. He deserved the ban and I sort of don't feel bad about the whole situation as he was acting like an idiot from the WoW General forums.

Guess crying real hard gets you attention.

Not sure if it is possible in this case I don't use any Bioware or EA products, but a smart person would never use the same ID for the game as they use for the forum.

Forums/Websites are much easier to hack (in theory) then a game account. So if they are one in the same you are asking for trouble anyway.

And here's yet another example where people will use something like this to rationalize and justify their pirating actions... like you weren't going to pirate the game before reading this.

A 3 day ban... yes I feel it's a bit heavy-handed and unwarranted, but it's not the end of the world. So a forum mod on EA's part made a bad judgment call... it still was only 3 days, and not a lifetime. I've bought stuff in the past that turned-out defective and had to go weeks without said product I paid for. Was I angry? Yes. Was it the end of the world? No.

I gotta say that the freedom of speech line is a bed one.
This guy is paying for the fact he exercized his right to freedom of speech.

If you come into my house excersizing your freedom of speech by making passes at my wife. You will likely have some right to bear arms asking you to leave.

Wrong People. Please understand what he has been banned from before making your ridiculous comments. The account was blocked which means that he cannot access the online Signature Edition content of the game only. He still has access to the game itself.

Well, after all I've read on metacritic, I am definitely NOT going to buy this game. What s**ts they are! I'm telling my friends too and we are in the 40+ age bracket of gamers!

I just recieved the ban hammer for 72 hours for an incident that happened to my son on Battlelog. Seems a EA server admin banned him for using the m98 sniper rifle and going 30-0 on a tdm..

Here's the kicker; he wasn't banned from just the server but from Battlelog/Origin itself.

After along heated discussion with EA SUPPORT,they told me he was banned for bad mouthing a EA ADMIN in a game server , not in Battlelog itself. I was like WTF? You mean to tell me you can be banned for talking smack in game? Yes , you can according to Ea support.

This isnt the outragous part. For some reason , a seperate Origin account (mine) that was on the same pc and tied into a different email was banned also. So 2 accounts was banned over 1 incident that happened in a game server? Yup , turns out Origin scans your pc and looks for Ea games , and other Origin accounts. So screw up on one... and even your offline accounts that are on the same pc will not work .. .Now thats one bad a$$ ban hammer.

As of right now, we have 8 EA titles we bought and paid for that we cannot play until this ban is lifted. -ONLY 1 of them is actually using the same Email that is associated with Battlelog /Origin. Now if this doesn't scare the average gamer away from Origin titles... I don't know what will .
