clearly he was making a direct attack on their religion, EA is not the devil, they merely serve him 😛

Does it state anywhere in the EULA that public criticism of the developer or the publisher is against the terms of use? I don't think so.

I was going to purchase this game before I read this, now I'm not. I'll not support a company that will bully it customer's over what it perceives as a bad post. I think I'll not be buying any more EA games in the future either until they stop this policy. Just remember they need us we don't need them.

[citation][nom]BulkZerker[/nom]So ea banned him from the game on accident... still disturbing they have such abilities.[/citation]
The ban hammer may hit even its holder...

I hope Bioware does something about this, in terms of an apology of some sort. The PC gamer community is a pretty dedicated bunch, and the backlash from us is something best avoided. This is all EA's doing, and Bioware shouldn't suffer, but there it is.

Pirating the game will only make this sort of abuse and bad treatment all the more common in the future. Just don't play it, and when companies see they're not making any money AND they're not 'losing' sales to piracy, then maybe they'll change their attitude towards consumers.

Crack the game, you are allowed to do that under the revised Millenium Copyright Act. If you purchased it, you shouldn't be blocked from using it.
SCREW EA.

How does freedom of speech works? (not from the USA, BTW)

Since, that forum can be accessed "freely" from anyway, could it be considered a "public place", or just for being under "private ownership", it can't be considered a public place at all?

Well, anyway, I do like that they have the "power" (well, they made the game, lol) to ban people from Forums and the actual game at the same time (I'll just assume it has an offline component). Some people just have to be kept behind closed doors and never be let out.

Cheers!

EA Holds the right to ban him from the forums, that I will accept. However, with that said, to have the power to keep him from playing the game by locking him out seems extreme. Granted EA claims they had no intention of blocking the user from playing the game. The fact that EA has that ability and can hold it over the head of all paying customers is sickening to me. Pretty much they're saying that if you say something they don't like they can and will keep you from using their product that you have paid for in full.

Now I don't condone piracy in any form, but EA isn't making a very strong case to deter pirates. By doing this they are just adding fuel to the fire and giving pirates even more reason to keep doing what they do.

AS usual, you buy a game and you can't even decide when YOU want to play it, you pay for it and it's not yours, they should better say that you are just usng the software as long as they see it appropriate.

I already wasn't going to buy this game. I think it's absurd that EA has the balls to charge 60 bucks for its PC games. High profile titles from all other companies (excluding Activision) are still 50 at launch. So you weren't going to get my money anyway. But I wasn't going to pirate it.

Now I think I'll download it via BitTorrent as soon as possible.

DRM-free and I don't feel at all sorry for not "selling my soul to EA" and such.
My PC gaming money belongs to Portal 2 and maybe Homefront.
