Hello, I purchased 2 4GB G.Skill NT ram awhile ago, meaning to get an additional 2 sticks of the same as my finances permitted. Unfortunately, the ram is now "out of stock" with a note saying it may never be in stock again. My question is: Can I get 2 sticks of 8GB G.Skill NT ram and have it be compatible with my current ram? Google searching is confusing, because some sources say no, but I just used PC Parts Picker and it offered the 8GB G.Skill NT ram as a compatible addition to my current setup. Can anyone knowledgeable in this stuff verify for me?
My Current RAM (2 x 4GB G.Skill NT):
G.SKILL NT Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2133C15D-8GNT
Can I add:
G.SKILL NT Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15S-8GNT
