[citation][nom]frozonic[/nom]Lets be honest....who REALLY CARES about their working condintions? exactly, nobody other that themselves, if they are not happy with their work, they should just quit, and if the have to work in there even if they dont want to but the money then do not complain about it, life isnt fair and its only good for the strong ones.[/citation]
You just know you screwed up when your comment had over 20 dislikes.

I wouldn't call it a screw up. People don't like it because it is true and the fact of the matter is, they are putting dislikes toward reality. It really makes sense if you think about it.

Take me for example, I'm at work and I"m not exactly getting paid well. And I do IT work.

Good to see Apple being proactive and hiring the FLA. Its shameful how low management at Foxconn can be towards their workers. Happy workers are productive workers!

I would like to point out to everyone that things are not the same everywhere. Arguments that "oh we must have this shit otherwise prices would be insane" or "oh well it's equal everywhere in the world factories always exploit etc" ARE JUST BULLSHIT.

I worked for a year as a consultant for a Samsung assembly factory that made some smarthphones and things are VERY different. All workers were really happy. Sure not a dream job but a nice job with good conditions and good pay. No one complained. The factory tried to give workers some things to make them happy, happy workers produce more. They had a kindergarten, a free cafeteria, free transportation, accommodation etc. No one worked more the 8hours. Even when production was delayed. actually very rarely happened and when it did it was due to shortage of supplies.
At some point I asked some questions when all this foxcon thing happened because it didn't made much sense in my head. I knew only 5% of the cost of an iphone is to pay for the workers. I thought it would be much higher with these working conditions. But it's not. They showed me the numbers and they were also 5% with a maximum of 6% in some models.

I wonder if apple couldn't reduce their insane profit margins by 1% to give humane working conditions or if their costumers wouldn't mind an 1% price increase.

Didn't foxconn double employee wages at least once, maybe twice during the suicide incidents? So before this review was done, they were making FAR less than the minimum wage in China...

Still, this review does show the completely different mindset in China. Working 60 hours is OK, many want to work more, only a few want to work less. I'm in Canada, work 45 hours a week in the tech industry and hate it. I'd much rather do 30 hours or something.
