Question FPS drop every seconds, then it goes normally and again drops

Hi everyone,

when i play games i have this trouble, it drops to 5 10 fps then it keeps like that for a 30 sec, and it back to normal fps and again drops, i notice that since i changed my motherboard but idk if that's the trouble, i tried updating bios, changing driver's version and updating drivers to the recents, even cleaning up my pc and reinstalling everything from zero. so idk what it can be i hope you guy can help me, i was playing like that 1 year ago to now, but i don't want to keep playing like this anymore. thx

You seem to be on BIOS version 7C52v2F, you have two more BIOS to flash. I would flash to 7C52v2H1(Beta version) and then clear CMOS.

You can try and use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(Intel, Nvidia and AMD) in Safe Mode, then reinstall the latest GPU driver sourced from AMD's support site in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

GPU : the processor one. Vega graphics 11
PSU : 550 watts LNZ (new- 3 months)
Chassis : brb chassis bs30
OS : WINDOWS 10 pro
Monitor : 24" Samsung S24F350 1920x1080

And games like - Dead By Daylight - CS2 - Overwatch - Valorant - even the simple ones like fall guys i close all the tabs and other applications and keep doing the same, i know maybe games can be heavy but with the no dropping it goes so gooood, so idk.

You'd get some performance out of your platform if you went with a dual channel DDR4-3200MHz ram kit with tight latency.

yep, i think im gonna have to upgrade everything, but the strange part is that happened when i changed my mother, before that it goes everything good, so maybe i buy a new pc from zero for make it easy, but im gonna try the BIOS update

You didn't mention that. You should reinstall your OS after a motherboard swap/change.

I'm from Argentina and for the budget don't worry, i would like to buy something for a long time if it's possible, and i was thinking too to buy something like rtx 3060/70/80, so idk what would be good. if i can fix this problem maybe i let it for the future but i would like to fix this in some way.

and yeah, i did it, i reinstalled everything from zero and nothing happened, i reinstalled even the chipset and everything, oh and i was watchin the CPU and my ram 2666mhz goes like this,

i made a test with the AMD software btw, and there u can see the error i mean is the CPU utilization it goes to 10% when is the drop fps when it back to normally it is 70% or something like that, but well, idk about that, here the video link of the performance

That yo-yo effect is a symptom of cpu throttling.
The cpu runs hard and heats up past the throttle point.
The cpu slows down until it cools down enough and the cycle repeats.
Run hwmonitor or such and look at the max cpu temperatures.


Look first to the installation of your cooler.
If it is not on even, or if the fan is not spinning fast enough, cooling can be poor.
Can you provide a link to your case?

and i have just the amd cooler like this

now i capped the Maximum processor state in the power plan to 60% to not overheat and it works a little, it seems strange to me btw, because this not happened before, but maybe was the poor quality of the thermal paste that i used when i changed the motherboard but idk

Any cooler needs a source of fresh air to let it do it's job.
Reading the specs, I do not see any mentions of fans.
I can see a mesh in the rear, likely for a 120mm exit fan.
It is not clear to me if you have any places for intake fans.
See if your behavior changes if you take the side cover off and direct a house fan at the innards.

Downdraft coolers are not as effective as tower types.

If you want to replace the cooler with something better, be aware that the max height for a cooler is 150mm.

Thermal paste quality is an issue if it gets old and dries out.
Most any paste will work fine.

yep, so i guess the problem is for the heat right? i was thinking it had hardware trouble, and ok im gonna try that, well in the future i have plans for build a new pc bc i have to touch a lot here, but for a while i guess i can limit the CPU utilization for not overheat. thx!
