Free cpu / system temperature monitoring program?

Is there a good free cpu temp/ fan monitoring system program out there? I remember this stuff coming free with my last mobo, anyway, running XP, and my system keeps randomly rebooting itself. First Ithought it was that 5770 ati bug, but now it only seems to happen when the system, is working hard? Core i7 860 processor, what temperature should this be???? Ideal range?

Now, that I've got hwmonitor installed I noticed, my +12v reading is
value of 2.56v, 1.28v minumum and 5.82 maximum. Is this normal, shouldn't the +12v always be drawing around 12v??? Also, my +5v vcch (don't know which one that is ) is constantly at 3.66 for all values?

Processor temp is between 47 and 51 degrees, i7 860, is this relatively normal (this idle temp).

Thanks, I can't figure out the culprit for the life of me????


Is there a good stress test program for the system? Kind of like memtest does for the memory? Something I can run and monitor system health, I'm not exactly sure what are good values? So, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Enermax Liberty 620W

30A|30A on 2 +12v rails. I think the readings have 2 be wrong,

I had the computer running for 10 hrs running, prime95 , furmark, and 2 hr system virus scan plus had music playing, and not only was system responsive, but nothing failed???

Yesterday, with Itunes any time I started downloading music it would restart my computer in the middle of downloads after a certain amount of time.


The odd thing is that when running all this stuff, the +12 rail went all the way up to +14.66, right now it says 1.60, but when I first turn on the computer and go into bios it says 12.0xx something. So, I'm thinking the bios value is probably right?
I didn't even get any grey screens today???? When I was running all this stuff. I'm thoroughly confused. Maybe it's an Itunes bug??? Or hell I wouldn't put it past Steve Jobs to put dodgy code in there on purpose to try and make MS look bad, or destablize your system
