I am running a custom gaming pc with a Linksys WUSB6300. I had a built in Intel adapter on the motherboard, I had to replace it due to issues with it not being able to connect to AC wifi, and I hoped that it would also solve my ping issues, but sadly it hasn't. This is especially a problem in gaming where I will often go from 23ms to 500ms every few seconds making online gaming nearly unplayable. This is also shown when I ping google with many of the requests timing out or the ping being in the 2000s. I'm kinda out of ideas as I have updated drivers and even tried them rolling them back. I'm on a spectrum network with 200 down and 10 up, and a Nighthawk R7900 connected to a CM500. All the devices are on the most updated firmwares and drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

First you need to test with a ethernet cable to be sure it is not your internet or router or something other than the wifi.

This problem is extremely common when you use wifi. It is because data was damaged likely by interference and the router is retransmitting which takes time. You have almost no options to fix this since the interference is likely coming from outside your house. You can try to change the radio channels but wifi is so crowded it is unlikely you find unused channels.

The technology just does not work well with how games need data. Pretty much anything else can tolerate those ping spikes

I really hoped that it wouldn't come down to that since I moving my computer to the router isn't possible. Thanks for the help anyways, I'm going to try a powerline to see if that is much of an improvement.
