The FS140 and PS120SE costs almost the same but the FS140V3 is around 5€ more expensive. From reviews the PS120SE wins by 1-2C but significantly louder as well. The current temps are horrible as i run the og hyper 212 led turbo without delid and reaching into the 85C territory while gaming with undervolt! In aida stability test it goes to 93C right away but doesn't thermal throttle. Gonna upgrade to am5 around january or so.
Looking at the die shots the 8700K's die is offset to the top and not centered. If i do a die and ihs overlay onto cooler coldplate(coldplate image from HW Canucks) it looks interesting. I used the assasin 3 as its heatpipe arrangement is almost the same as PS120SE.
Almost all heatpipes of the FC140 touch the IHS completely and 2 and 1/4th touches the die. On the A3 5 heatpipe touch the ihs and only 2 and 1/3rd touches the die.
My gut is telling me FS140 but i could be wrong. If you have this cooler on your 8700K feel free to share your experience with it.
Thanks in advance.
