What a waste! I would have spent that money on an Athlon Thunderbird system that will outperform the P4 in almost all situations. The P4 is a new platform as well, lets just hope that problems don't come up like they did for the P3 1.13Ghz CPU and the i820/i840 chipsets, or the MTH issue. What you did is kind of like buying a first year production car with no testing, you my friend have just become a BETA tester for INTEL!!! You must have money to burn, otherwise I assume you would have researched that damn thing and realized that by the time applications become optimized for the P4, SSE2 code, Intel will be selling them at 2Ghz for much much less. In the mean time, if you have not had the system for long TAKE IT BACK and get a Athlon Thunderbird and enjoy the performance advantage now! As for overclocking the P4, it may not be possible with the platform, motherboard, you have in the system, so be patient if you intend to be a BETA tester!!!
