[SOLVED] Fujitsu MB D2912-A12 GS 1 is dead- Need best Alternative - Do I need new PSU for new MB also?

My MB Fujitsu D2912-A12 GS 1 is dead and I have to replace it with the new board.

Would an experts here suggest a better alternative please?

Also with the new MB should I upgrade my PSU as well? My current PSU is DPS-300AB-44 A | S26113-E547-V50-01

was looking them up. that socket stoped manufacturing 2011. a new refurbished board is the same price as a new modern board.

might be about time to upgrade unless its tied to a server setup.

I bought this workstation long ago and using it at home with windows 10.

I got 16 GB RAM and i7 processor prob 2nd generation.

a new used board. is 60 before shipping. and not sure how much life you will get out of it.

what do you use it for is the next question to see if its finaly time to upgrade.

I use it for my development softwares like Visual Studio 2019, SQL Server etc and my wife uses it for 2D and 3D animation. She uses softwares Crazy Talk Animator, Iclone, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Element pro etc

Currently I am using 4GB Radeon RX 5500 card, 16 gb RAM with i7 prob 2nd gen

a modern ryzen 7 pc would make all of that run so much better, but do you have roughly 600ish to upgrade. can keep gpu. might need new case, not sure on size.

Little tough but I can arrange it. Do I need to change everything? I mean MB, CPU, RAM and casing? Can share some links please?

I have Fujitsu W280 workstation go green casing. The casing model is MI3W Max

The programs that you have running i would recomend something like this. could drop the r7 for an r5 but most of those programs would run better with the extra cores of the r7.

the case you could run again. later if no internal cd drive, i would upgrade it. the power supply in new cases push the hot air out the bottom. this case would be pushing it onto the cpu. also modern cases better air flow and cooling.

if you are running modern HDD and SSD already you could skip out on the m.2 storage.

i would go with a new power supply.

this is just a rough list. could spend some time to refine it some more.

you can always check out garage sales and try to pick up a used modern case with the power supply in the bottom for cheap. but that can be all kinds of nasty

the price would depend on what else you need in the case. if you need 2 stoarge drives beyond the 1 ssd or m.2 drive. the price goes up. no extras can get low as 60.

to me they just look better then most others.

hit that partpicker link and and then find the edit parts button. you can then find the cases line and click that. will give you huge list of cases

but if you need to save money you can reuse old case until you have anough to change.

(when you build. if you have a power supply bag, makes a great bag to hold extra parts and cables from your new build.)
