FX-55 VS 4800+

I can get either processor with a new mobo for about 30.00 difference in price, the 4800+ being the higher of the 2. I primarily game with this computer. Would like to get some imput on which one to consider for now and long term use.

Just get the X2 4800+. 200MHz is hardly going to kill your gaming experience in single threaded games. Besides dual core drivers and the fact that background processes are running on the other core will easily make up the difference. Many games are becoming multithreaded anyways so there's really no going back.

I'm the second to vote for the FX. Why? I really like chips with an open multiplier. Then again, if the optys were on the list, they would get my vote.
If you dont OC, get the x2.
