I play 2 games that are capped to 60fps which is usually fine but recently I've been wanting to use G-sync for screen tearing reasons. One of the games works fine with G-sync and I can Alt+tab and leave it in the background with no issues and still use my PC at 165hz. The other game however seems to keep my monitor at 60fps unless I forcefully alt+enter to window it and then minimize it. Is there any fix for this?

Hey there,

Please list your PC specs, and the games you are referring to.

Why would you cap your frame rates when using G-sync? or why cap at al? What resolution monitors do you have?

TBH though, this is most likely down to the game not release control of the refresh rate. It could just be buggy. Make sure your system is full updated both drivers and bios.

Run sfc scannow and DISM: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...em-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e

Apologies, I have a Ryzen 5700x3d and a 4060ti running a 165hz 1440p dell monitor but I had the same issue on my old 1080p 144hz monitor. The game in question is Honkai Star rail but I haven't had this issue with any other 60fps game.

My GPU driver is up to date but Ill check other drivers and do the scan to see what happens.
